DS60001380B-Page 37 BM78 Figure 6-3 illustrates the recommendations for mount- ing the BM78SPPS5MC2/NC2 on the host PCB, and shows the minimum ground plane area to the left and right of the module for the best antenna performance. Avoid the top copper layer near the test pin area. When designing the host PCB, the areas under the antenna should not contain any top, inner, or bottom copper layer. A low-impedance ground plane will ensure best radio performance (best range and lowest noise). The ground plane can be extended beyond the minimum recommended, as needed for host PCB EMC noise reduction.
