The IN74HC165A isidenticalinpinoutto  the LS/ALS165. The device inputs are compatiblewithstandard CMOS outputs; with pullup resistors, they are compatible with LS/ALSTTL outputs.
This device is an 8-bitshiftregister withcomplementaryoutputs from the last stage. Data may beloadedintothe register either inparallel orin serial form.  When the SerialShift/ParallelLoad inputislow, the datais loaded asynchronouslyinparallel.When the SerialShift/Parallel Load input ishigh, the dataisloaded seriallyon the rising edge of either Clock or Clock Inhibit(see the Function Table).
The 2-inputNORclock maybe used either bycombining two independentclock sources or bydesignating one of the clock inputs toact as a clock inhibit.
