Why is clarity important?

The new 3M 1663 Clear Protective Tape measured best

for clarity when compared to competitive wax blocking

tapes.

Clarity:

Narrow-angle light scattering

Influences the resolution of fine details. Unlike haze,

clarity is distance-dependent and deteriorates as the

distance between the specimen and the observed object

increases. Clarity is a critical tape feature when used in

conjunction with reflection screen blockers.

A tape that does not have good clarity will result in

blocking alignment difficulty for the operator.

Haze:

Wide -angle light scattering

The second most critical feature - A higher haze

measurement will affect the ability to detect contrast

and results in a cloudy appearance.
