39 / 93 page ![]() Rev. 1.00 38 ��to�e� ��� �01� Rev. 1.00 39 ��to�e� ��� �01� HT68F005/HT68F006 Enhanced I/O Flash Type MCU HT68F005/HT68F006 Enhanced I/O Flash Type MCU Standby Current Considerations AsthemainreasonforenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEModeistokeepthecurrentconsumptionof thesedevicestoaslowavalueaspossible,perhapsonlyintheorderofseveralmicro-ampsexcept intheIDLE1Mode,thereareotherconsiderationswhichmustalsobetakenintoaccountbythe circuitdesignerifthepowerconsumptionistobeminimised.Specialattentionmustbemadeto theI/Opinsonthesedevices.Allhigh-impedanceinputpinsmustbeconnectedtoeitherafixed highorlowlevelasanyfloatinginputpinscouldcreateinternaloscillationsandresultinincreased currentconsumption.Thisalsoappliestodeviceswhichhavedifferentpackagetypes,astheremay beunbondedpins.Thesemusteitherbesetupasoutputsorifsetupasinputsmusthavepull-high resistorsconnected. Caremustalsobetakenwiththeloads,whichareconnectedtoI/Opins,whicharesetupasoutputs. Theseshouldbeplacedinaconditioninwhichminimumcurrentisdrawnorconnectedonlyto externalcircuitsthatdonotdrawcurrent,suchasotherCMOSinputs.Alsonotethatadditional standbycurrentwillalsoberequirediftheLIRCoscillatorisenabled. IntheIDLE1Modethesystemoscillatorison,ifthesystemoscillatorisfromthehighspeed systemoscillator,theadditionalstandbycurrentwillalsobeperhapsintheorderofseveralhundred micro-amps. Wake-up AfterthesystementerstheSLEEPorIDLEMode,itcanbewokenupfromoneofvarioussources listedasfollows: • Anexternalreset • AnexternalfallingedgeonPortA • Asysteminterrupt • AWDToverflow Ifthesystemiswokenupbyanexternalreset,thesedeviceswillexperienceafullsystemreset, however,ifthesedevicesarewokenupbyaWDToverflow,aWatchdogTimerresetwillbe initiated.Althoughbothofthesewake-upmethodswillinitiatearesetoperation,theactualsource ofthewake-upcanbedeterminedbyexaminingtheTOandPDFflags.ThePDFflagisclearedbya systempower-uporexecutingtheclearWatchdogTimerinstructionsandissetwhenexecutingthe “HALT”instruction.TheTOflagissetifaWDTtime-outoccurs,andcausesawake-upthatonly resetstheProgramCounterandStackPointer,theotherflagsremainintheiroriginalstatus. EachpinonPortAcanbesetupusingthePAWUregistertopermitanegativetransitiononthepin towake-upthesystem.WhenaPortApinwake-upoccurs,theprogramwillresumeexecutionat theinstructionfollowingthe“HALT”instruction.Ifthesystemiswokenupbyaninterrupt,then twopossiblesituationsmayoccur.Thefirstiswheretherelatedinterruptisdisabledortheinterrupt isenabledbutthestackisfull,inwhichcasetheprogramwillresumeexecutionattheinstruction followingthe“HALT”instruction.Inthissituation,theinterruptwhichwoke-upthesedeviceswill notbeimmediatelyserviced,butwillratherbeservicedlaterwhentherelatedinterruptisfinally enabledorwhenastacklevelbecomesfree.Theothersituationiswheretherelatedinterruptis enabledandthestackisnotfull,inwhichcasetheregularinterruptresponsetakesplace.Ifan interruptrequestflagissethighbeforeenteringtheSLEEPorIDLEMode,thewake-upfunctionof therelatedinterruptwillbedisabled. |
