ER discharge state diagram 6.5 ER CAP diagnostic The L9680 IC contains a full integrated solution to check the connection, value and series resistance of energy reserve capacitor independent from ER Cap leakage current and Boost Voltage level. 6.5.1 ER CAP measurement The IC contains two current generators used to charge and discharge the energy reserve capacitor connected on ER pin. The simplified block diagram is shown in the figure below. Figure 15. ER CAP measurement block diagram To obtain an accurate ER CAP measurement, the VER voltage conversion must be required when both current generators are off, namely no current flows through ER cap permits to avoid ESR error contribution. |
