Flash Program Memory

TheProgramMemoryisthelocationwheretheusercodeorprogramisstored.Forthisdevicethe

ProgramMemoryisFlashtype,whichmeansitcanbeprogrammedandre-programmedalarge

numberoftimes,allowingtheusertheconvenienceofcodemodificationonthesamedevice.By

usingtheappropriateprogrammingtools,thisFlashdeviceofferuserstheflexibilitytoconveniently

debuganddeveloptheirapplicationswhilealsoofferingameansoffieldprogrammingand

updating.

Structure

TheProgramMemoryhasacapacityof4K×15bits.TheProgramMemoryisaddressedbythe

ProgramCounterandalsocontainsdata,tableinformationandinterruptentries.Tabledata,which

canbesetupinanylocationwithintheProgramMemory,isaddressedbyaseparatetablepointer

WithintheProgramMemory,certainlocationsarereservedfortheresetandinterrupts.Thelocation

000Hisreservedforusebythisdeviceresetforprograminitialisation.Afteradeviceresetis

initiated,theprogramwilljumptothislocationandbeginexecution.

Program Memory Structure

Look-up Table

AnylocationwithintheProgramMemorycanbedefinedasalook-uptablewhereprogrammerscan

storefixeddata.Tousethelook-uptable,thetablepointermustfirstbesetupbyplacingtheaddress

ofthelookupdatatoberetrievedinthetablepointerregister,TBLPandTBHP.Theseregisters

definethetotaladdressofthelook-uptable.

Aftersettingupthetablepointer,thetabledatacanberetrievedfromtheProgramMemory

usingthe"TABRDC[m]"or"TABRDL[m]"instructions,respectively.Whentheinstructionis

executed,thelowerordertablebytefromtheProgramMemorywillbetransferredtotheuser

definedDataMemoryregister[m]asspecifiedintheinstruction.Thehigherordertabledatabyte

fromtheProgramMemorywillbetransferredtotheTBLHspecialregister.Anyunusedbitsinthis

transferredhigherorderbytewillbereadas“0”.

Theaccompanyingdiagramillustratestheaddressingdataflowofthelook-uptable.
