The return address points to the head of the

IOB frame data. This permits the buffers to

be added to the top of the free queue when

all transmissions have occurred.

When linked to the respective transmit queue, the tag field

contains tags for each transmit port linked. Once IOB data has

been transmitted for the port, the tag is cleared. When all tags

are clear, the buffers are returned to the free buffer port.

The same IOB frame is linked

to each transmit queue it is

to be transmitted from.

frame echoing

If a frame enters on a port whose address matches the destination address of the frame, the frame is not echoed

back on the port. A general rule is that no frame is echoed back to the port on which it was received. If frame

routing is being performed by the EAM interface, it is the user’s responsibility to enforce this since it is not

enforced by the TNETX3150/TNETX3150A.
