Windowing and subsampling

7.4.1

Windowing

The pixel array resolution is 10000 pixels in x direction and 7096 pixels in y direction. On each

side of the pixel array, there are a number of dummy pixels (to improve the optical behavior of

the pixels at the edges of the active pixel array). For windowing purposes, the rows and

columns of the pixel array have an address. When reading out a frame, the start and end

positions of the frame in x- and y-direction need to be specified. To reduce the number of

available addresses, only every 16th column and every 8th row have an address. This means

that the size of a window is always a multiple of 16(x) by 8(y) pixels.

The dummy pixels on each side of the pixel array also have an address (y,x): (0,y), (626,y),

(x,0) and (x,888). Figure 18 shows a representation of the pixel array with the addresses in x

and y direction.
