ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS
This section provides the absolute maximum ratings, recommended operating conditions, DC characteristics and AC
characteristics for the VSC8540RT device
8.1
Absolute Maximum Ratings
The following table lists the absolute maximum ratings.
1: This device has completed all the required testing in the ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC standard JS-002, Electrostatic
Discharge (ESD) Sensitivity Testing, Charged Device Model (CDM), and complies with a Class C2a rating.
The definition of Class C2a is any part that passes an ESD pulse of 500V, but fails an ESD pulse of 750 V.
2: This device has completed all the required testing in the JEDEC standard JESD22-C101, ESD Sensitivity
Testing, CDM, and complies with a Class C4 rating. The definition of Class C4 is any part that passes an
ESD pulse of 1000V.
3: This device has completed all required testing as specified in the ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC standard JS-001,
ESD Sensitivity Testing, Human Body Model (HBM), and complies with a Class 2 rating. The definition of
Class 2 is any part that passes an ESD pulse of 2000V, but fails an ESD pulse of 4000V.
Warning This device can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD) voltage. Microchip recommends that all inte-
grated circuits be handled with appropriate precautions. Failure to observe proper handling and installation procedures
may adversely affect reliability of the device.
