Compact Type TM Operating Modes

TheCompactTypeTMcanoperateinoneofthreeoperatingmodes,CompareMatchOutputMode,

PWMOutputModeorTimer/CounterMode.TheoperatingmodeisselectedusingtheCTM1and

CTM0bitsintheCTMC1register.

Compare Match Output Mode

Toselectthismode,bitsCTM1andCTM0intheCTMC1register,shouldbesetto00respectively.

Inthismodeoncethecounterisenabledandrunningitcanbeclearedbythreemethods.Theseare

acounteroverflow,acomparematchfromComparatorAandacomparematchfromComparatorP.

WhentheCTCCLRbitislow,therearetwowaysinwhichthecountercanbecleared.Oneiswhen

acomparematchfromComparatorP,theotheriswhentheCCRPbitsareallzerowhichallowsthe

countertooverflow.HerebothCTMAFandCTMPFinterruptrequestflagsforComparatorAand

ComparatorPrespectively,willbothbegenerated.

IftheCTCCLRbitintheCTMC1registerishighthenthecounterwillbeclearedwhenacompare

matchoccursfromComparatorA.However,hereonlytheCTMAFinterruptrequestflagwillbe

generatedevenifthevalueoftheCCRPbitsislessthanthatoftheCCRAregisters.Thereforewhen

CTCCLRishighnoCTMPFinterruptrequestflagwillbegenerated.IftheCCRAbitsareallzero,

thecounterwilloverflowwhenitsreachesitsmaximum10-bit,3FFHex,value,howeverherethe

CTMAFinterruptrequestflagwillnotbegenerated.

Asthenameofthemodesuggests,afteracomparisonismade,theTMoutputpin,willchange

state.TheTMoutputpinconditionhoweveronlychangesstatewhenaCTMAFinterruptrequest

flagisgeneratedafteracomparematchoccursfromComparatorA.TheCTMPFinterruptrequest

flag,generatedfromacomparematchoccursfromComparatorP,willhavenoeffectontheTM

outputpin.ThewayinwhichtheTMoutputpinchangesstatearedeterminedbytheconditionof

theCTIO1andCTIO0bitsintheCTMC1register.TheTMoutputpincanbeselectedusingthe

CTIO1andCTIO0bitstogohigh,togolowortotogglefromitspresentconditionwhenacompare

matchoccursfromComparatorA.TheinitialconditionoftheTMoutputpin,whichissetupafter

theCTONbitchangesfromlowtohigh,issetupusingtheCTOCbit.NotethatiftheCTIO1and

CTIO0bitsarezerothennopinchangewilltakeplace.
